What follows is an invitation to return to stillness. It is an invitation to calm your nervous system. To relax. To come back to yourself. To let go of that which is not serving you in life.
In this relaxation and letting go you can begin to re-energise. To learn to harness the life force you have and use it to live life in ways that is more fulfilling.
If that sounds like something you would like more of, the invitation to return to stillness contained in the video at the end of this post is for you.
An Invitation to Return to Stillness
Originating as a result of clinical practice, the Creative Instinct Course began life as a series of short videos; a means to share some first principles with therapy patients and coaching clients.
The incentive was two fold: Save time repeating the same information for those who I sensed would gain benefit from it, and, save individuals time and money in 1 to 1 sessions by spending that time focusing on what was specific to them.
While the course is certainly no substitute for 1 to 1 therapy or coaching, it does provide around 5.5 hours of content for prospective, current, and even past patients and clients that can help support either process. The first principles offer can offer something of a foundation in an individuals engagement to heal, and to thrive.
Those with an inclination to self motivated growth may even find it give them all the tools they need. Maybe that is you?
From Humble Beginnings
While need inspired the creation of the course its value is not limited to therapy or coaching clients.
The exact same principles that help to facilitate an individual to heal, be it at a psychological or a physiological level, also serve the principle of growth.
The fundamentals are the same: Learning how to relate and adapt to your experience of life better leads to better choices, and generally, a more balanced and accurate perspective. This can help alleviate unnecessary suffering and stress, and enables one to cultivate growth and thrive in life.
An Invitation to Return to Stillness
While there is certainly a structure to the course, and some very simple practical exercises (working at many levels to promote healing and growth) Creative Instinct begins with an invitation to return to stillness.
This is the one and only explicit hypnotic induction for participants.
Whenever you are feeling lost, stuck, or broken, feel free to return to stillness – that is the invitation. Action can come from there. Rest can be found there.
If you struggle to get to this place on your own that is what this video is for. It’s like a supplement. Feel free to use it until you learn to fully relax as and when you can. (There are additional lessons for this in the course, perhaps the most profound structured around chi gong)
Participants have recorded all sorts of inspirational changes in their lives as a result of following the course. Some of the shifts happen quickly, others take longer to permeate into their daily lives. Perhaps this short introduction might have the same effect? I hope so.
Invitations
The course is not a formula or a system you are bound to adhere to. While it is fair to say that all growth requires a certain willingness to engage in transformation, this course does not insist on any path other than your own. It is an innovation for you to discover what that might mean and be for you. This begins by meeting life as it is and in doing so becoming who you are.
It invites you to find and follow your own truth, which can sometimes be a challenge. This is why it offers some tools and techniques for you to use in your exploration of what your best path in life (or the best way for you to travel) might be.
In this sense it is designed to empower you to be yourself. To live your life well, but most of all, to experience a life that has a sense of fullness to it – and to be at ease in your own skin while doing so, and it all begins with the following invitation.
Which is now my invitation to you.
Return to Stillness. Relax, and reset you mind, body and your soul.
And wherever you can,
heal & thrive.
